What is the specific contribution of affectivity to epistemic responsibility?

The project examines the role of affective valence (the felt quality of emotional experience in belief revision responsibility (the duty to revise one’s false beliefs) for answering the responsibility problem in vice epistemology.

The responsibility problem revolves around the fact that agents might display vicious epistemic agency without bearing responsibility for it if their epistemic vices were brought about by vicious epistemic cultures.

The project argues for a novel non-voluntarist account of revision responsibility grounded in a situated account of affective valence.
